Banking stocks may be plummeting all over the world, but some banks in Central and Eastern European countries are still attractive because of the good growth opportunities in the under-banked region, analysts from Austrian bank Erste wrote in a report on Friday.

Romanian growth play Banca Transilvania, headquartered in the Transylvanian city of Cluj, is among those recommended by Erste Bank analysts, as well as Bucharest-based BRD-Societe Generale, "one of the most profitable banks in CEE."
